As I was scouring Instagram for things to feature, I stumbled upon the account of visual artist Jesus Ortiz. Not much can be found about him online, other than I found out he’s based in Málaga, Spain. Apparently, while his name is quite common (try Googling him, we dare you), his art isn’t. The images he creates are refreshing to look at, and here’s why.
He is a freelancer who does graphic design, advertising, photography, and illustration, both full and part-time. We’ve seen a few of his photographs, but the fine art that really blew us away are his minimalist pictures of colorful items against a plain but equally bright background. His careful arrangements of everyday items in wild, summery hues would definitely grab anyone’s attention.
A lot of his creations are playful, but of course anything can be interpreted differently. For us at TAE, we think it’s a tap into the summer mood all year long. How about for you? Check out these images and get back at us.
