DRAMA / HORROR: In September 2014, Gareth Pugh staged “an immersive presentation,” an alternative to a conventional fashion show, built around three videos Megalith, Chaos and TAE’s favorite and his last video Ascension. The third of his short film collection presents Pugh’s Spring 2015 designs with only four seconds of footage transformed into four and half minutes of dramatic, forward thinking film sure to change the future of fashion visuals.
MUSIC: Francesco Capper, a young London-based designer has released a short film of her Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Directed by Joe Beverley, this seductive, fun and upbeat video features a mix of structured pleats and sexy cutaways along with shoe designs from Carolin Holzhuber.
INDIE: Directed by Lena Dunham of the TV hit “Girls”, Rachel Antonoff’s fall 2013 line is narrated by Adam Driver, who reminds us of a young Wes Anderson in his description of a close friendship between two women. Dunham’s sister, Grace also plays one of the best friends. The relationship between the two characters is described as both quirky, funny and lovable.
ROMANCE: Who doesn’t love a good romance movie trailer? Cary Fukunaga’s film for luxury brand Maiyet’s Resort 2013 collection follows a short but charming love story in Africa with star Haley Bennett. Coated in breathtaking white blouses and complimented by adorable elephants, we can’t say no to so much preciousness.
COMEDY: Inspired by Anjelah Johnson’s sassy MadTV character, Bon Qui Qui, T by Alexander Wang features her Spring 2013 collection in this hilarious short film. With cameos from A$AP Rocky, Alessandra Ambrosio, Shannan Click, Simon Donnan and Natasha Lyonne, there is no possible way you won’t crack a smile at this take on fashion and retail.
