Just last week, someone stumbled into the TAE office by accident looking for art galleries. Guess what? It was the manager of up and coming artist Cedar Lee! This got me really excited because they were looking for galleries to feature her works, mostly of trees and the cosmos. Cedar is, at the moment, just breaking into the San Diego art scene.
Having a huge following online and in places most would consider holes-in-the-wall, this cosmic and tree artist wants to get an even bigger audience. Her large wall hangings are such great sights, I’m betting she’ll be quite famous in no time. What astounds me is that she’s one of those people who are the type of dreamers that set out to actually achieve them.
I learned that at the tender age of 9, she already wrote an essay detailing her plans of growing up – she basically said she wanted to develop her artistic skills and paint for a living. Well, what is this Missouri-born, California-based, self-taught painter doing now? Exactly what she set to do before she was even in high school! Isn’t that just inspiring?
Her works have already been sold to private collections across the States, as well as countries like Sweden, Canada, and Italy. Here are a few of her mesmerizing pieces:
