Merve Özaslan slices and dices in her latest intrepid collection of mixed medium photographs. The Turkish artist combines natural images and famous vintage urban life photography to create simple but invigorating work.

According to her portfolio, the “Natural Act” collages were inspired by the relationship between nature and humanity. “It is basically a critical presentation referring to the fact that each of us is part of nature. It seeks to answer whether greed, urbanization, mechanization and detaching from nature is favorable or coherent for humans,” she writes.

A portion of the collection reflects off of the popular 3D street art style while other images pull natural elements from the city’s surroundings.  It is both charming and magical how she replaces city buildings with seascapes and bathing suit patterns with the outline of tree shadows.
