TAE has not featured a stunning photographer in a while, and Marina Cano’s images are just the kick we need to make us appreciate the beauty nature has to offer. An internationally known and very talented nature photographer, Marina’s shots of wild animals from Europe and Africa are gorgeous as she sees them.
Her images are powerful, and in a way also humanizing – think of them as animal portraits. You’ll see what I mean in a minute. The thing is, these pictures are so expressive that it sort of takes you there to whatever safari or park she shot them. Some may seem like they were shot in a studio, but she always takes them outdoors and on the spot.
Based in Cantabria, Spain, Marina has been taking photos since she was a teenager. Since then, her photos have been published the world over and have won lots of awards. She’s published two books as well so far, namely Cabárceno (2009) and Drama & Intimacy (2012). She’s currently in Africa, and I cannot wait to see what she captures during her stay there.
