I love looking at ads that were well-executed. One of the best I’ve seen so far is that of the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra, where their print ads and posters combined amazing macro typography with minimalist graphic design to create effective images.

These bold pictures were created from a concept by Mona Sibai and Björn Ewers, the latter serving also as art director. Photography was done by Mierswa-Kluska. What they did was take shots of musical instruments typically found in an orchestra, but from a really odd perspective: inside.

Through these posters, you get a closer look at things like a pipe organ, cello, violin, and flute. Strangely enough, from the angles they were shot it’s as if they were created in larger-than-life proportions spacious enough for us to walk in. In fact, they kind of look like large concert halls, tunnels, and other surreal spaces.
