Happy Thanksgiving! Ever Wondered How Famous Artists Would Arrange Their Plates?
From all of us here at TAE, Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂 A local artist from nearby San Francisco created the series “Thanksgiving Special,” and I’d like to share this fun set of photos in time for this long weekend. Created by Hannah Rothstein, the series shows Thanksgiving plates as inspired by famous artists throughout history.
Hannah puts herself in the artists’ shoes and arranged gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, and the plates themselves as edible artworks. She copied the styles of famous artists like Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh, and Georges Seurat, among many others.
If you enjoy these works, you can even buy prints of the artistic plates. 10% of the profits go straight to the SF-Marin Food Bank. There are only 25 pieces of the limited edition, signed 16” x 20” prints, going for $75 each.
Can you guess whose styles these are?
Answers, top to bottom: Vincent Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Georges Seurat, Jackson Pollock, Julian Schnabel, Rene Magritte, Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian
