We at TAE love all sorts of art, but we especially love when people innovate and do unique things. This time around, we discovered an artist who uses eyelids as their canvas. It’s not your ordinary makeup – artist Tal Peleg creates intricate artworks on her own eyelids.
Tal loves art, and actually dabbles in many different kinds – she does photography, makeup, and illustration. “Art has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember,” she says. “Eye art is my way of mixing all these passions together.”
The artist says that the eye is not just a canvas – the shape and curves are both a challenge and an inspiration for which she tells stories. “I don’t just paint on the eye, but try to use the shape of the eye and its natural curves as part of the illustration in a creative way.”
She also says she gets inspired by everything, allowing that to open up her mind to various artistic interpretations using her tools. Using really small, precise brushes, and a combination of eyeshadows, eyeliners, and even watercolors, she paints everything painstakingly, sometimes taking hours!
Tal says it takes “hours of work and lots of patience” but everything is worth it and she enjoys everything. Take a look at some of her really rad eye paintings!
