As lovers of travel and all things beautiful, we at The Art Elephant found this group of photographers to be especially interesting. Calling themselves “AirPano,” this Russian team take to the skies to create incredible panoramic bird’s eye views of landmarks and cities worldwide.

Created as a nonprofit project by a team of Russian photo enthusiasts, AirPano is focused on taking high-resolution aerial panoramic photographs. They’ve already gained international attention, even winning the EPSON International Pano Awards from 2011 to 2016, among countless other awards both in Russia and all over the world.

While walking around and taking photos of places we visit would be an experience all their own, their goal is to give us stunning aerial views of some of the most beautiful locations around the planet.

“Although we usually photograph from a helicopter, we also like to shoot from an airplane, a dirigible, a hot air balloon, and a radio-controlled helicopter,” they wrote to BoredPanda. Their techniques are super interesting and definitely create a look that’s something they can claim a name for themselves for. On their website you can even check out 360-degree videos you can pan left-to-right, which is also pretty cool.
