Christian Guémy is often called “France’s answer to Banksy” (who by the way is one of my fav artists), so naturally I got curious and went on to research about him. I was blown away by his works, mostly stencil art! He uses the moniker C215, and he’s been a graffiti artist for over 20 years. That’s just amazing!
I’ve looked at a couple of his works, and I noticed that his usual subjects are street kids, elderly, the homeless, and even beggars and refugees. I found out that he does those because he’s inspired to make art that would “draw attention to those that society has forgotten about.” I think that’s very admirable and I’d love to see some of his works in person next time I travel.
Here are some of my favs from his works in the States, as well as cities all over the world like Paris, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, and Olso:
Thanks so much for reading this!
