Barcodes Aren’t Boring: 12 Cleverly Sneaky Designs

It’s been quite a while since we last had a post about design here on TAE. Our creative team has been looking online and found something pretty interesting – graphic design involving something we rarely notice! Have you ever looked at a product and saw something unusual, like the barcode not looking like a standard one?

If in case you’re unaware of its purpose, a barcode is a (usually) black and white, machine readable image of, well…bars that form a code. In other words, it’s a visual representation of data, which you can scan with a laser barcode scanner, and that image translates into whatever data was encoded. For example, scanning a barcode on a product at the grocery store rings up its price and basic info.
