A calendar project in London has gone viral when Café Art gave London’s homeless a bunch of free disposable Fujifilm cameras. Armed with lessons from the Royal Photographic Society, the participants returned 80 out of the 100 cameras.

Those cameras came back filled with about 2,500 photos, and a final dozen were selected as images for the Café Art 2016 My London calendar. A panel as well as public vote (of over 2,400 people) selected the pictures that are from the perspective of the homeless Londoner. It’s a bittersweet, beautiful thing to look at, and who wouldn’t want these gorgeous images to inspire us year-round?

Run by Paul Ryan, Café Art is a community interest company based in London and they promote the talent and work of artists who unfortunately face homelessness. The project is backed via their Kickstarter, already having exceeded their £4,500 goal.

“All the money raised goes back into the project,” Café Art says, “either to pay for the printing of the photographs and calendar, rewarding the winning photographers, buying art materials for art groups affected by homelessness or helping individuals attend art courses.”

The calendar cover (above) was taken by ROL. Below are the monthly images in order:
