The thing here at TAE is that with the love of art also comes the love of inspiring and helping others. This is the reason projects like #ANOTHERLIGHTUP come so close to my heart… It’s a crowd-funded project that aims to fund the installation of a street light system into a dangerous neighborhood in Cape Town, South Africa.

It’s one of the most populous cities in the country, and yet the area is not the safest around. With this project, it empowers people to become active agents in change. Brought together by Design Indaba Trust, Faith47, and Thingking, this project is a multi-storey artwork with a wall that lights up at night every time enough money is raised for an additional light installed. This is in a pathway in Monwabisi Park, Khaeylitsha, an informal settlement area.
